Movement Support

Roles for volunteers who want to facilitate a diverse, inclusive, trained rebel population on the sites, and to use the movement building potential of the action to maximise our outreach to all communities. These roles include: recruiters (integration), stewards, leafletters, moderators, facilitators, coordinators...

Integration (Recruiting and Onboarding)

What will i do?

XR's version of recruiting and onboarding! Provide information to new rebels wanting to volunteer, direct them to available training sessions, help rebels find suitable roles during the action and ensure that teams across the rebellion have the numbers they need to continue!

Rota Coordination

What will i do?

The role of Internal Communication and Rota Person is to be in contact with the point people from each working group all over your site, checking in with them and being sure they have enough volunteers for each period of time throughout the rebellion. You will have a sign-posting role, with a tablet on hand, keeping site spreadsheets up to date and using them to link rebels up from all over site.

Trainings & Inductions

What will i do?

Help coordinate and run trainings and inductions for new rebels onsite and remotely, to bring everyone and anyone into the XR organism. A big part of this is running street inductions to effectively onboard new rebels quickly!

Leafleting and Outreach (onsite)

What will i do?

Engage the local community and passersby through leafleting and other means. Talk with businesses and engage with local community groups to share our message and encourage prospective rebels to sign up.

Disabilities Network (Outreach and Advocacy)

What will i do?

Advocate for disability, accessibility and inclusion through all parts of the rebellion. Publicise the rebellion within disability related circles, develop necessary information and checklists, and raise awareness among non-disabled allies internal and external of XR.

What will i do?

BSL (British Sign Language) Interpreters - we need you! Part of the Disabilities Network Working Group.

Stewarding

What will i do?

Welcome and inform the public and anyone joining the action. Deliver leaflets and information about XR, orient people through the different sites, help rebels navigate the sites. Includes Night-Watching and Safeguarding.

Conflict Resolution

What will i do?

Take an active role in resolving conflicts within and between working groups as they emerge on and beyond sites.

Facilitators (Decision Making)

What will i do?

Help facilitate the daily meetings at the Rebellion covering all sorts of topics, and participate in important decision making processes. Includes train-the-trainer to onboard other rebels so they can support the facilitation and decision making processes. Also includes People's Assembly activities.

Connecting Communities

What will i do?

Help represent and interface between XR Community Groups e.g. Faith Groups, Occupations and Diasporas and and the rest of the rebellion and wider public.

What will i do?
